The Mfuwe Basic & Secondary school is a state run for grades 1-12, due to the remoteness of the area and travelling distances to come to school, the school has a boarding facility which as it stands is in a dilapidated condition.

The boarding establishment consists of one house for the boys and one for the girls, both have no electricity, running water, washing facilities or sanitary toilets. The children have no set kitchen, no set place to eat and wash-up. These children have to walk into the bush everyday to get firewood and cook under the trees, bearing in mind that wild animals are prevalent in the area.

The first priority for us is to build a kitchen for the boarding school.

The children have no extra curricular activities and no access to information eg. No newspapers, books, television or Internet, as most children in the western world are accustomed to. A local Wildlife Trust has recently donated 2000 books to the school and now comes the problem of storage.

Secondly we would like to build a library for the school.

Other than these two main problems there are numerous others, the school desperately needs new classrooms, toilets and new teachers houses.
